Key findings from Watson Wyatt's latest research on the effect of the economic crisis on HR Programs in the US show that the number of US employers whose results have already “bottomed out” has more than doubled from February to April and most companies are looking ahead to an eventual recovery. While companies remain pressured to reduce costs in the recession, 53% are no longer planning layoffs in the next 12 months, 67% are not planning further hiring freezes, and another 65% are not planning to make any organizational restructuring changes.
From the March 2009 HR Trends Survey, 56% of companies surveyed indicated that global directives drove the cost-cutting measures implemented in Singapore. Hence, how will global developments in tackling the crisis influence HR programs in Singapore? Watson Wyatt invites you to participate in the June 2009 Pulse Survey, which aims to understand the latest market sentiments with regard to the global economic downturn. Survey participants will be entitled to a complimentary survey report, which will be ready towards the end of July 2009.
