Military Leave Policy
In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the U.S. Department of Defense has been authorized to call up military reservists. Their mobilization brings up many questions regarding the employment status and benefits of employees called to military service. In general, U.S. employees returning from military leave are guaranteed re-employment and other rights. The Uniformed Services and Employment and Reemployment Rights Act governs the health care and pension benefits of these employees.
