Q. What do Watson Wyatt employees do on a normal workday?
A.
Every single day is different. That’s the amazing thing about this
job. You’re going to get so many different opportunities. I’ve done
government forms, benefit calculations, and valuation work. I’ve mostly worked in the retirement practice, so that’s where I’ve seen most of my work. Wherever you want to go, whatever you get interested in, you can always talk to your manager, and they can get more work for you of
that kind.

Q. What’s your favorite part of the workday?
A.
My favorite part of the workday is ... well, it’s lunchtime. But my most favorite in terms of the work-related part of the day is whenever we
start planning for a new project; we have meetings to see where we’re going to go, what we’re going to do – these are like our brainstorming sessions. If that’s not on the [schedule for the] day, then it’ll be a consultant meeting – to sit in, to listen, to learn how [analysts] react
to people and how they present results to their clients.

Q. Overall, what do you enjoy most about working at Watson Wyatt?
A.
Watson Wyatt’s one of those places where it doesn’t matter which office you go to, where you’ve been, who you meet – you can call
anybody anytime you need a resource. It’s very much a people company.

Q. What do you like to do in your free time?
A.
When I do get breaks between the exams, I’ll pick up a random
book and read it. I love going to bookstores or even the library and
just browsing the shelves and seeing what captures my eye. I do logic puzzles, especially the kind like sudoku and the box kind that has process of elimination. Those are my favorite – they have been since
I was 12.
