Browser versions
As long as you have internet access, you will be able to access the Watson Wyatt recruitment system regardless of what PC/operating system you use. The Watson Wyatt recruitment system uses jsp pages and only requires a standard browser to access/use them.

There is a minimum requirement of Web Browser that we support. The following are supported:

  • Internet Explorer version 5.2 or later
  • Firefox 1.0.4 or later
  • Mozilla 1.7.5 or later
  • Netscape 7.2 or later

Popup blockers
Our site uses pop ups so if you have popup blockers enabled e.g. the Google or Yahoo toolbar, please disable them. For information on how to do this please check your software vendor’s website (e.g. Microsoft). As a quick workaround, most internet browsers support holding down 'Ctrl' whilst you Click to disable the popup blocker.

Add-on toolbars like Google and Yahoo also have a built-in popup blocker which may prevent you from viewing the pages correctly.

Firewalls
The Watson Wyatt recruitment system uses only standard web protocols to deliver content (HTTP, HTTPS) which will work for users either at home or within internet cafes. Most companies operate firewalls but these shouldn’t pose any issues if ports 80 and 443 are allowed from the user’s machine to the internet. In most cases a company will be using a proxy server to allow users to browse the internet so this should take care of potential firewall problems.

Caching
If you experience issues with the site appearing incorrectly or behaving strangely this could be due to cached pages. Clearing your Web browser cache forces the browser to load the latest versions of Web pages and programs you visit. If your company use proxy servers this could also be caching the pages although this is unlikely. Your IT department should be able to assist you if clearing the browser cache doesn’t help.
