What the judges will be looking for
Organisations are continually striving to adapt to the ongoing business challenges of competition, productivity, cost management and talent acquisition/retention. Business and HR leaders know that effective HR strategy and management are central to finding solutions to these challenges. We want to hear from organisations – whether small, medium or large, and regardless of sector – that have successfully responded to their particular business challenges through HR initiatives implemented in the last three years. These initiatives may have taken various shapes or forms, for example...
- Organisational restructuring and design
- HR function effectiveness
- Performance and rewards strategy
- Pensions and benefits strategy
- Partnership and collaboration
- Communications and
employee engagement
- Employee resourcing and retention
- Work design and resource management
- Equality, diversity and work/life balance
- Learning and development
- Coaching and mentoring
- Leadership development
and succession planning
The list is not exhaustive but simply to serve as a guide.
In particular, the judges will be seeking submissions which will have some or all of the following
- provide clear evidence of how the initiatives are aligned to the achievement of the organisation’s business objectives
- show a clear outcome and return on investment
- demonstrate effective and efficient use of resources available
- enhance the employees’ capability and contribution
- involve taking an innovative approach to a business issue.
The judges will require verification that the initiative has added real value to the organisation.
Should applicants wish to further discuss how this may apply to their respective organisations, please contact Mr Paul Ennis, CIPD, 7-8 Upper Mount Street, Dublin 2 or telephone (01) 676 6655.
