Introduction

What sets 2006 apart from other years for me must be sport. The Heineken Cup, World Cup, Wimbledon and the forthcoming Gaelic Football/Hurling Championships not to mention the Ryder Cup. What sets the winners apart is not only talent but teamwork. This T-effect is what management is all about. Getting more out of the combined talent of the team than can be achieved individually. The greater the talent the greater the risk but the potential reward is also higher. In this edition of Perspectives our team use their talents to explore ways of helping you, our clients, to define and win your 'World Cup'. In addition, we have included some snippets from our calendar of events both within the office and outside – to give you some indication of informal life at Watson Wyatt.
