Employee Opinion Survey Benchmarking

To effectively track the success of a change initiative,
it is critical to:

  • Staff satisfaction.
  • Commitment and alignment.
  • Equality of opportunity and diversity.
  • Work / life balance.
  • Perceptions of leadership.
  • Reward and recognition.
  • Performance management.
Turning results into action

The ultimate measure of success for any employee research programme is whether or not the findings are used to drive real constructive changes to a business and its people. In reality, this is precisely the area where many organisations conducting employee research fall down. We have a team of experienced consultants who can provide consultancy support at all levels of management to help you identify action areas and specific interventions that will yield real measurable business results.

Our consultancy will help you:
  • Prioritise a manageable number of clearly defined action areas that will drive organisational performance.
  • Actively involve key stakeholders and staff and encourage ownership in the action planning process.
  • Effectively communicate and co-ordinate action planning at the company and local level.
  • Ensure that the survey process an integral part of your wider business strategy.
  • Effectively balance long-term and short-term initiatives.
Research methods

We work with our clients’ survey teams to design tailored research solutions which encourage employee participation and provide reliable and valid employee data. In all projects that we conduct, we aim to balance the need for contextual detail against the need for hard data. This we combine qualitative and quantitative research methods to provide the ideal basis for the design of questionnaires and communications campaigns, prioritising action planning areas and formalising specific improvement initiatives. Internet surveys are increasingly being used as a cost-effective method for data collection for large-scale studies. By understanding a client’s business and the concerns of different groups of employees we can create a bespoke questionnaire using ‘branching technology’ allowing different question modules to be created for different business units, functions or locations- including different language versions. We are also at the forefront of the application of Internet technology and software tools to provide user-friendly, customised interactive electronic reports and action planning tools. These are designed to provide executives and individual line managers the ideal platform from which to launch corporate and local action planning.

Advanced data analysis

We believe that many organisations do not utilise the valuable survey data that they gather to the fullest possible extent. As a firm whose business was originally founded in actuarial consultancy, advanced statistical techniques are our ‘bread and butter’. We use advanced techniques such as multiple regression, segmentation and factor analysis as a matter of course to help our clients get the most from their data sources.

We undertake these kinds of analyses to:
  • Explore the links between survey data and measures of business and financial performance, customer satisfaction or HR metrics (ie staff turnover or sickness absence) that can be tracked as part of a balanced scorecard approach.
  • Identify 'real life' employee groups rather than relying on crude demographic splits.
  • To structure questionnaires and determine their breadth of coverage.
  • multiple hypotheses by correlating survey variables.
