Robert Hall, Consulting ActuaryInsurance & Financial Services practice, Watson Wyatt Robert is a senior actuary within the Insurance and Financial Services practice of Watson Wyatt. He acts in the statutory role of actuarial function holder for five UK life assurers, all specialising in pensions and annuity products and has also served on the board of a major UK bancassurer. Within Watson Wyatt his specialist area has been the interface between the pensions and financial services regulatory regimes for both personal and occupational pensions. His clients include pension scheme sponsors, trustees and financial services providers. Graham Mitchell, Senior Corporate ConsultantBenefits practice, Watson Wyatt Graham Mitchell is a senior actuary within Watson Wyatt specialising in pensions advice. A graduate of Durham University, he completed the actuarial exams in 1987, the year in which he joined Watson Wyatt. For many years he worked in the firm's Birmingham office, becoming a partner in 1990 and taking overall responsibility for running the office between 1998 and 2005, overseeing considerable growth in clients and revenue under his leadership. From 2006 he moved to a pure consulting role based in our London office. Graham advises pension scheme trustees and also sponsoring employers. He has been involved in several ground-breaking pensions transactions involving refunds to employers, and innovative contingent financing solutions. He is a regular speaker at Watson Wyatt seminars and has written for and been quoted in the FT. His clients include Severn Trent, Britvic, Superdrug, Hutchison Westports, Bayer and telent (formerly Marconi). Mark Wood, Chief ExecutivePaternoster Mark began his career with Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant specialising in financial services and particularly life insurance. He has held a number of senior positions in the financial services industry at Commercial Union, Barclays, Axa UK plc (Chief Executive, 1996 – 2001) and Prudential - UK and Europe (Chief Executive, 2001 – 2005). Initially backed by Numis, and then with £500 million of equity financing from a number of institutions including Deutsche Bank, Mark founded Paternoster in December 2005. Paternoster is a regulated insurance company established to take on the risks associated with companies’ final salary/defined benefit pension schemes. Mark was Deputy Chairman of the ABI (1997 - 2000), Deputy Chairman of the NSPCC (2000 - 2007) and is a governor of Amesbury School. |
