This is an historic event and has been retained on the website for your information

On Tuesday 4 December 2007 Watson Wyatt’s Corporate Consulting Group will hold a seminar on pensions issues arising in M&A transactions, including Private Equity deals. Watson Wyatt has been involved in providing corporate pensions advice on a number of recent high profile transactions where pensions have been a major issue. We will draw on our extensive experience of working with all parties on such transactions to look at the impact of pensions from the perspective of purchasers (including those financing the deal), corporate targets and pension trustees.

Topics covered will include:

  • How to understand the real price of pension liabilities
  • Who should take responsibility for which liabilities
  • How to factor pension costs into business projections
  • What actions can be taken to reduce pension costs and risks
  • Where are pension trustees coming from and what are their powers
  • What are the issues in dealing with the Pensions Regulator

The seminar will be followed by cocktails.

This seminar will be of interest to all those who have to deal with pensions issues in an M&A context, including in-house corporate M&A experts, investment banks, private equity firms and legal advisers. Please make a note of this date in your diary. We will provide further information closer to the time.
