International Human Resources Training Course
23 & 24 November 1999
Nearly everyone employed in the HR field is encountering an international dimension to their work. For some, this involves international posting of home country employees, while for others it involves the establishment, management and monitoring of reward packages for employees at subsidiaries overseas. Whether head office imposes rigid controls or allows local management to reflect domestic practice, it is increasingly important that nothing happens by default. A sound knowledge of international practice is essential.
This course will focus on providing the practical knowledge HR specialists will require in the international arena. It is aimed at international human resources professionals who already have some international experience, but who wish to build on their experience and consolidate the knowledge and understanding that they have so far acquired on an informal basis. Group exercises are an important feature of this course, which is highly participative.
Tuition will be provided by an experienced team of speakers who regularly consult on multinational issues and who have wide experience of advising companies globally on the design and management of their HR programs.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Setting a global reward strategy and making it work
- Compensation and benefits for internationally mobile employees and executives (IMEs)
- Mergers and acquisitions - maximising the value
- Taking a multinational approach to benefits
- Global share plans
- Using compensation data globally
- Using IT to deliver global HR solutions
- The role of the international compensation and benefits manager
The course will be held at Watson Wyatt's Reigate offices in the UK. For further information or to reserve your place, please e-mail to Jayne Walker.
