Social security contribution rates changed
Effective January 13, 2009, contribution rates for unemployment and accident insurance in Ukraine have been revised.
Key details
The new social security contribution rates are as follows:
- Unemployment insurance contributions have been raised to 1.6 percent from 1.3 percent of payroll for employers and remain at 2.2 percent for employees working under civil law agreements. For other employees, contributions have been raised to 0.6 percent from 0.5 percent of payroll.
- Contributions for work accident insurance now range from 0.56 percent to 13.5 percent of payroll for employers (previously, this range was 0.66 percent to 13.6 percent), according to the risk level of the industry they operate in. Employees are exempt from this payment.
- Total state pension (first pillar) contributions remain unchanged at 33.2 percent for employers and 2 percent for employees.
