Journal of Pension Economics and Finance
Cambridge University Press has recently published the first issue of the Journal of Pension Economics and Finance (JPEF), the only academic journal of pension economics and finance. Mike Orszag is a founding editor. Other editors are: Jeff Brown (Harvard), Steve Haberman (City University) and Moshe Milevsky (York University, Canada). JPEF will focus on the economics and finance of pensions and retirement income. The ageing population, together with the shrinking workforce, heralds a growing pensions crisis, which has become a key public policy issue in developed countries and elsewhere. JPEF will provide a forum for international debate in this area. The journal is associated with the International Network of Pension Regulators and Supervisors, a network administered by the OECD, which has member organizations in 65 countries.
The first issue is now available and looks at controlling the cost of minimum benefit guarantees in public pension conversions, gender-specific risks and returns in relation to social security, and how China might solve its old-age security problem.
The journal is issued three times per year and is available to individuals at £26 per year, with print and online access for institutions available at £80 per year, and online only access for institutions available at £75 per year.
