ABOUT THE AUTHOR
 Steve Vernon is a Vice
President and Consulting Actuary with Watson Wyatt Worldwide. For 30 years, he has helped
large corporations design, administer, communicate and fund their retirement, benefits,
and rewards programs.
He has published three books with John Wiley & Sons, titled:
- Live Long & Prosper!
- Employee Benefits: Valuation, Analysis and Strategies
- Don't Work Forever!, Simple Steps Baby Boomers Must Take To Ever Retire
He has also published various articles on retirement, benefits and rewards topics, and is a
quoted expert in major news publications such as The Wall Street Journal,
New York Times, USAToday, BusinessWeek, Fortune, and
Money Magazine. He is an accomplished speaker, appearing in front of over 150 audiences
with his book tour for Don’t Work Forever!
Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine, with a double major in
Mathematics and Social Science, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
He has two children, is engaged with environmental issues and the human potential movement, and
enjoys hiking, skiing and water sports. He also teaches aikido, and holds a second degree black belt.
He lives in La Canada, California.
