Implementing Securities Lending Programs
An increasing number of institutional investors are participating in securities lending programs in an effort to boost their returns. However, while these programs can add incremental returns to investments, they also add risk. Recent events in the credit markets have highlighted the fact that it is important for institutional investors to understand the risks that accompany securities lending programs and assess their comfort level with these risks.
